Loft Ladders and Loft Flooring Installers

If your loft is floored or requires flooring we can help. We can insulate correctly before laying an area of flooring, fully insulate any residual loft space or even insulate at rafters level to give you a warmer space whilst retaining as much heat as possible.

Why Insulate your loft

Loft insulation offers several benefits, primarily related to energy efficiency and home comfort. Here are some of the key advantages of loft insulation:

  1. Improved Energy Efficiency: Loft insulation helps to keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer by reducing heat transfer through the roof. This means you can rely less on heating and cooling systems, ultimately lowering your energy consumption and utility bills.
  2. Cost Savings: Reduced energy consumption translates into lower heating and cooling costs. Over time, the money saved on energy bills can quickly offset the initial investment in loft insulation, making it a cost-effective home improvement.
  3. Increased Comfort: Insulating your loft helps maintain a more consistent and comfortable indoor temperature year-round. It prevents drafts and cold spots in the winter and minimizes heat gain in the summer, creating a more pleasant living environment.
  4. Reduced Carbon Footprint: By using less energy to heat and cool your home, loft insulation can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.
  5. Enhanced Property Value: A well-insulated home is often more attractive to potential buyers. Proper loft insulation can increase the resale value of your property and make it more appealing on the resale market.
  6. Condensation Control: Loft insulation can also help control condensation and moisture buildup in your attic space. This is important for preventing mold and mildew growth, which can be harmful to both your health and your home's structural integrity.
  7. Sound Insulation: Loft insulation can have sound-absorbing properties, reducing the transmission of noise from outside or between rooms. This can contribute to a quieter and more peaceful living environment.
  8. Quick Installation: Loft insulation is relatively easy and quick to install, making it a convenient home improvement project. It typically involves laying insulation material between the ceiling joists in the attic.
  9. Longevity: High-quality loft insulation can last for many years without significant degradation, providing long-lasting benefits.
  10. Government Incentives: There may be government incentives or subsidies for installing loft insulation as part of energy efficiency programs. These incentives can help offset the cost of installation.

Proper installation is crucial to maximize the benefits and energy efficiency of your insulation as well as avoiding creating future problems.

Loft Boarding, Flooring and Storage in Scotland.

Once the insulation in your loft has been increased, as many homes in Scotland have already opted to do, the storage space in the loft is often lost. It is crucial that you refrain from storing items on top of the insulation, as not only will this reduce the effectiveness of the insulation, but it can also pose a safety risk if you have ceiling downlighters in your property as well as a risk of falling through the ceiling. To avoid these potential hazards, it is best to consult with our team today to explore ways in which we can assist you. Feel free to reach out to us at 0141 478 4789 for further information and guidance.

Many homes already have flooring installed onto the Joists but this limits the thickness of insulation which can be installed. If you are looking to retain the storage space in your loft and increase your Loft Insulation, we can remove your old flooring, install additional insulation and supply Raised Loft Flooring sometimes known as Loft Boarding We use LoftLegs to lift the flooring above the insulation by 175mm or 300mm, depending on the thickness of the insulation installed.

Alternatively, we can add more insulation to your Loft by insulating at Rafter level instead and retain the original flooring. This is not as effective as insulating over the top of the joists.

See our page on Raised Loft Flooring and Loft Ladders for more information. If you are looking to remove your old Loft Insulation, we can safely and cleanly dispose of that and (if required) even hoover the Loft before installing new insulation.
